I’m trying to raise funds to produce the children’s book I’m writing/illustrating titled, “Aurora”. As well as raise funds to help with the production of my new tote bags. Have 15% off of anything in my shop with the code: THANKYOU. Every two prints purchased will receive one free (your choice), and any original or custom piece will receive a free print (your choice).
I am so very happy to announce the arrival of my brand new Big Cartel shop!
There you can find a curated collection of prints, original (including articulated) papercuts, and an option for custom silhouettes! Arriving soon is the return of my Abracadabra tote.
I'll also introduce my new I Put A Spell On You tote!
As I mentioned before, there are some original papercuts for sale...
"Spectre"
This piece, "Can You Hear Me?" is articulated!
There will be lots more surprises coming soon, so keep an eye out ;)
Well...it has been quite a while. I just wanted to pop in and wish all of you a very very Happy New Year!
Lots of things have taken place in the last few months, and I can't wait to share them with you. Most excitedly I can share that I will have a new shop appearing at the end of the month! I'm moving onward and upward, with so many things brewing in the cauldron.
I wish you and yours nothing but the brightest most wonderful things ahead!
I am producing a limited edition shirt boxed set, featuring an image from my new photo series titled, "Spectre".
The boxed set includes the shirt pictured above (AA unisex white), and a pro-printed 8" x 10" print of the shirt image. This will all be housed in a black box that features a handcut, articulated switchblade papercut. Here's the deal...I am not selling these in my Etsy shop. There are 5 boxed sets left that I want to be made exclusively to my blog readers. The sets are $45, which includes shipping. If you want to be one of the 5, please email me asap at: monpetitfantome@gmail.com
In Etsy shop news, I do have some prints available from my "Spectre" shoot...
I have a new print in the shop! It's probably one of my most intricate pieces to date, and I have so much fun cutting it.
"Do This In Memory Of Me"
It was inspired by this pair of lace gloves that I bought at work...
I am working on two articulated papercuts, right now, that will be one off pieces in the shop really soon!
The most exciting news to share is that I finally got two kitties!! They are two black beautiful boys named Salem and Dorian. I adopted them, here in town, and am so happy I got to keep these brothers together!
I love them soooo much! It might sound silly to some, but I don't think I could imagine my life without them.
Another big change is that I've gone blonde! I've dyed my naturally reddish brown hair black since 9th grade. It has been such a refreshing change going lighter...
Now it's time to share some new goodies and treasures that I've found...
Have you guys heard of "Moon in My Room"? It's a 15" moon replica that lights with the different moon phases. Holy shit it's amazing! This is what it looks like right out of the box...
And here it is all lit up!
I've been lusting after these Acutal Pain Sixth Seal tights foreverrrrr! They have finally been restocked and I snagged a pair.
Living in Austin, in the summer, inevitably means doing some sort of outside activity...hopefully near water! I decided to break down and buy a sun hat (in black of course!).
I went to see Tim Burton's "Dark Shadows". I LOVED it! I don't understand the negative reviews in regards to it's camp/humor. Had these people not seen the original soap opera. Well, I was obsessed with it as a kid, and found this lovely while buying kitty litter at Target (attention stalkers: If you want to find me, 9 times out of 10 I'm at Target buying litter).
I finally got some Jeffery Campbells! These are the "Damsels" and I love 'em...
I attended the musical festival, Chaos in Tejas, and got to meet and hang with the sweetheart that is Audrey of Ovate!!! If you are not familiar with Audrey's clothes, do you self a favor honey and check them out...
I got to see and meet Chealsea Wolfe at CIT! She is an amazing performer and such a dear sweet lady.
Now time for some items I found at work that have made their way into my home...
This is one of the most gorgeous mourning scarfs I've ever seen! From the early 1900s, it has some amazing pleating work...
A pristine Masonic bible! It is filled with some gorgeous lithographs in the back, and also some coded messages handwritten in the back!!
Now, I know this is not going to be everyone's cup of tea. I understand people have strong feelings in regards to owning skulls, bones, and taxidermy. When I bring a new piece into my home, it is because I love and respect it. I'm giving it a home where it will be displayed with care and truly appreciated. That said, after years of owning replica skulls, I found an antique skull used for medical educational purposes. It is in gorgeous shape and sits right next to me, on my desk, and is my work buddy.
This is one of the most thrilling photocards I've come across. I am in love with this lady! I want to sit at her feet and have her tell me stories...
And finally a wooden Ouija board from 1919!
How bout some musics?!
Chelsea Wolfe is working on an acoustic album and here's a taster...
A new discovery for me, Tropic of Cancer...
Grimes has a new video for one of my favorite tracks, "Nightmusic". She's coming back to Austin in October, and I can't wait!
Everyone who follows me knows my deep love of Broadcast. Well, James Cargill finished work on a soundtrack that he began with Trish Keenan for a film called "Berberian Sound Studio". I cannot wait to see this film and listen to the soundtrack.
And here's a wee something to tickle your funnybone ;)
Well, lots of things have been happening that I can finally share with you!
First off, on August 8th, if you've ever had the desire to see me on television, you can. I will be appearing on an episode of HGTV's "Property Brothers". The filming experience was so much fun and surreal. I, for one, never thought I'd EVER be on tv!
I also will have a few pieces in a show in Philadelphia. The show is in September, and I'll give out more details as I get them. My largest show will be this November at Loved To Death's Articulated Gallery this November!! Curated by my dearest JL Schnabel, this promises to be a fun show with some of my biggest scale work yet. Expect to see 3' articulated papercuts! Again, more details as I have them.
Speaking of papercuts, I've updated the shop with some new pieces...
"I Touch Roses" 1
"I Touch Roses" 2
"Spellcaster" 1
"Spellcaster" 2
"In The Throes"
I also have recently done a fantastic photoshoot with my dear friend, Darby, as the model. Those should be up soon, but in the meantime, here's a behind the scenes photo...
Well my dears, I just wanted to update you all as to what I've been up to lately. I'll actually post again tomorrow with more of life's excitements! Such things as my own kitties (finally), new goodies, meeting Chelsea Wolfe, and me going blonde!
